Patients with psoriasis often have numerous comorbidities, including metabolic syndromes (diabetes, arterial hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and obesity), cardiovascular disease, and depression.4 More than a quarter of patients develop psoriatic arthritis and about 1% of patients are affected by inflammatory bowel disease.4,5The comorbidities lead to increased morbidity and mortality, and high social and economic costs for affected individuals
